The fate of humanity and our environment are inextricably linked. As we push up against planetary limits, we inflict pain on ourselves, and each other. The sprawling concrete, walls, screens, and industrial supply chains of modern societies disconnects us from nature, our food, and waste.
Oblivious to the damage we’re causing, we are forced to participate in a system which harms us. Green initiatives, policies, and industries appear to be a step in the right direction. But, are they just a mechanism for buying time and sustaining the way we work, travel, and consume through life?
A healthy future for humanity requires a healthy planet. But, our economic system is ecologically blind, and coupled to a growth based obligation, the demand for infinite material consumption has an end point.
How do we use our planetary challenges as community-wide learning opportunities to solve problems?
How do we create the conditions which allow us to reconnect with nature and re-engineer ourselves?
What alternatives to material growth can we explore?
