Developing More Resilient Communities.

Being human is a team sport but during the 20th Century we witnessed a trend which saw people leaving family, friends, and community life behind in search of work. Globalisation and the changing media and technology landscape shifted our attention further afield. The upshot - we’ve traded relationships with digital transactions, and in doing so become disconnected, isolated, and polarised.

Covid-19 has shifted work patterns with people spending more time at home, and this presents opportunities to reconnect with our sense of place. At the same time, the pandemic has revealed local fragilities, due to centralised decision-making, and complex just-in-time supply chains.

  • How do we experiment with using this opportunity to be more productive at home, but also regenerate our neighbourhoods?

  • How should we explore partnerships and build ecosystems which bring young people, social entrepreneurs, and organisations together to solve local challenges?

  • How do we bridge the gap between generations and come together to share wisdom, ideas, and create new stories?
